SWAN L Series - Table mount High precision CMM

The Swan L series is attached to the main console structure. The main guide of the Swan is connected to the side of a strong cast iron work surface that is integrated in the machine.

Console systems integrated with work surface are very modular and simple. The use of traditional measurement gauges is speed and intuitive. The system brings flexibility and programmability of CMMs.

The light and sturdy movable carriage is completely built of light aluminum alloy and the double mechanical guideway with air bearings on the X axis. This feature guarantees quick measurement operations, reliability and high precision. The entire console structure integrated with strong work surface usually avoids the need of expensive foundation construction.

The Swan L series of table mounted (Console) horizontal arm coordinate measuring machine offers a technically advanced and cost-effective solution for the dimensional inspection of thin-walled sheet metal and plastic components typical of the automotive industry.

The SWAN is unique in offering air bearings to both Y and Z axis providing a high-performance high accuracy solution.  The X-axis guide-way is located on the side of the machine cast iron or granite support table and allows the arm to be moved outside of its measuring volume for part loading. SWAN SI can be installed on pneumatic vibration isolation system for installation in production applications without the need for a dedicated machine foundation.

Jupiter is a Runway configuration, available in single or dual arm configuration, and is fully encapsulated to provide thermal isolation from environmental changes and includes protection from shop-floor contamination. Jupiter is characterized by high dynamics and high accuracy. The Jupiter CMM can be installed flush with the factory floor with walkable way covers as standard.

The JUPITER CMM is a proven high-performance CMM for direct use in production. It paces manufacturing and was specifically developed for automotive body-in-white and subassembly inspection applications. The Renishaw PHS continuous wrist is not locked into its driven angular position as with indexing heads; instead it is driven to the commanded position and as a probed measuring point is taken the wrist axes latch simultaneously with the axes of the CMM to provide accurate measurements. The head is protected by a built-in overtravel protection unit which signals the machine to stop in the event of a part collision.

The PHS can be supplied with probe mount change rack allowing probe extensions or adaptors to be exchanged to suit the probing task required without manual intervention. Its modular construction and simple operation enable any number of racks to be positioned on a pillar anywhere within the VMM measuring volume. The rack is passive: all locking and unlocking of adaptors and extensions is done by using the CMM motion.
